I think it’s so important to have a personal photography project. We can get caught up in the everyday minutiae and lose our passion for this art. Whether you’re in business or photographing your own family, personal projects can help us remember why we love photography.
One of my personal projects is photographing the things we grow in our backyard. I have to admit that I have pretty much nothing to do with the growing of these things. My husband has the understanding and patience to be our backyard farmer. So I’m committed to documenting the beauty that he grows. I cannot tell how how much I love this red rose. I photographed it by the light of our doggy door in my laundry room! That spot is one of my favorite places for good light in my house 🙂
I hope I’ve inspired you to find a photography project if you don’t have one already. And to find the light to shoot in, even if it’s provided by a doggy door!
